Most communities would be unable to survive without the existence
of non-profits. Non-profits more often then not will be the
groups that will pull together local town oriented events and
functions. They are also the groups you turn to when you are
in need of help. Please do what you can to support the
non-profits of your community.

Held at GE Civic Center, May 11-14 2011 - Various book groups, film group, other meetings as per web page listing. The oldest continuous women's advocacy organization in the United States. The mission of AAUW is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. Our efforts focus on educational equity and opportunity. Our fundraising supports college scholarships. Our local activities include book groups, a film group, and various other study groups and branch meetings. |

recruit, train and support
volunteer citizen advocates to effectively speak to the best
interests of abused, neglected and dependent children in
DuPage County's juvenile court system.
Court appointed special
advocates enable a juvenile court judge to make
well-informed decisions that will result in a neglected and
abused child to be placed in a safe, permanent home as
quickly as possible.
Monthly Meetings held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7 PM. Annual Party held in January The national organization for women is the largest, most comprehensive feminist advocacy group in the United States. Now stands against all oppression, recognizing that racism, sexism and homophobia are interrelated, that other forms of oppression such as classism and ableism work together to keep power and privilege in the hands of the few.
